Stole my rings

Everything went as planned and three men helped me move my things on short notice. One of three guys was the owner of the business and upon finishing the job asked for payment with his square credit swipe. Upon reaching for my purse I had realized my rings I had attached to my lv clutch on the kitchen counter were missing. It was irresponsible of me to have left my wallet out and including my diamond engagement and wedding rings out, however stolen items right under my nose is shocking. I was in complete disbelief and asked politely if he had seen my rings and denied it and asked the other two movers outside to which was also denied. I could not believe this was happening and I was alone with two toddlers running around I was assured by him that all were willing to do a polygraph. I should have called police right there but was terrified as it was just me and my two kids and I didn't want to jeopardize them. They still wanted payment for their work so I paid them and the investigator has been forced to close the case as the owner of the company refuses to give the employees names and addresses and he himself no showed on his appointment for the investigator. He claims to have lost his phone and record of the names and addresses of those two employees. It sucks but this happened don't trust anyone even if its literally right under your nose.
